We had reservations for Friday at 8:45 PM. Upon arrival, our coats were checked in and we were taken to our table on the upper floor. We did not have to wait for our table.

Meal started with two kinds of bread (white, and multigrain with black olives), accompanied by a wonderful hummus with garlic.

My partner had the "Cauliflower soup with brown butter, crisp pancetta and Bay scallops". It was very smooth and creamy, with a rich cauliflower and cheese flavour. See photo at (40.1 KB)

I decided to upgrade ($6.95) my appetizer and ordered the "Seared Yellow Fin tuna with vegetable pot stickers, charred pineapple chili salsa and Yuzu sauce". It was a wonderful appetizer with Asian influence, rich in unique flavors that blended nicely. I'm not sure my dish had the promised vegetable pot stickers. See photo at (64.7 KB)

My partner had the "Pappardelle with braised rabbit in natural reduction with maple glazed squash and crisp sage". He enjoyed the dish, but said that mine was better. See photo at (46.5 KB)

I had the "Roasted chicken with mushroom onion ballantine, squash risotto, natural reduction and crisp herb fritters". This dish was heavenly. The roasted chicken was masterfully prepared, tender, juicy and so flavourful. The chicken tights were deboned and stuffed with shitake(?) mushrooms and onion. The squash risotto was delicious, almost sinful. The crisp herb fritters were absent. See photo at (50.2 KB)

We both had the "Warm apple crostata with cinnamon ice cream and pecan praline" for dessert. The name says it all. It was a great winter dessert, heavy and rich in flavour. We guess it had some Cointreau in it. I was light headed after I finished mine. See photo at (45.8 KB)

Service was impeccable: attentive, non-intrusive and with no attitude. My partner said "I believe we'll come back here", and I totally agreed with him. Dinner for two with a glass of wine, juice and a very generous tip came to $111.00.
