Dinner last night and I have to say up front, it was one of the better meals I have had this year. The room is very tranquil with lots of wood and tan colors, faux bamboo, spacious seating and an open kitchen enclosed in glass. Makes for a nice ambience.
Here's what we ate. Starters were the shrimp with corn, potatoes, tomatoe in a creamy sauce with vanilla...awesome dish, and the green salad with champagne vinagrette which my wife really enjoyed. Main courses were the Red Snapper Veracruzana with mustard sauce and chantrelles, and the Tea Salmon with aged balsamico, pinot noir reduction and fois gras butter. Both of the fish dishes were perfectly done. IMHO, this is were the kitchen shines. The fish dishes all looked extrodinary on the menu. We both had the bananas flambe with ice cream and chocolate syrup done tableside which was outstanding.
We had a bottle of 2002 Olivier Guyot Bourgogne Rouge that was truely wonderful. Total bill $117 before tip.
I highly recommend Norman's. They have a website if you care to know more.
