Just a head's up for those into it: Noresore are now on the menu at Kyo Ya. The season sometimes only lasts a couple weeks, so those who are fans should get on 'em while the gettin's good. It might be close to the end of those couple weeks, dunno. Popped in for a little a la carte last night and was happy to see them on the menu. Beautiful, subtle, sake-like sweetness and a hint of brine.
Blurry pics below, the rest of the meal:
Noresore with lemon-soy dipping sauce
Kombu-cured Blue Shrimp Shiokara
Raw Botan Ebi & Uni with honshemiji, ikura, radish, wasabi kuzu (& two fried shrimp heads, not pictured)
Kani Goma Tofu Gratin
The wreckage of a half-eaten Snapper Chazuke. Rice and teapot out of frame.
Didn't splurge for the Hokkaido hairy crab... at $68 (For one crab? Anyone had it?) it was hard to justify. Got my crab fix from the Gratin.
