"Oh what a beautiful morning!!"
Knowing I am stuck uptown due to Covid lock-down, my daughter brought this lucky 'sweet tooth' father, a whole box of French Pastry goodies from 'Nord Lyon' downtown!! Yum!
Tart Lemon Meringue
Tart Nord Lyon
Verdict: Overall, I must admit I am a bit disappointed. May be after hearing a few positive reviews about this new place, I have set my bar too high?
In general, the pastries were good and fairly acceptable, though presentation and appearance was rough-with-an-edge and unrefined. Ingredients used like the Chocolate was first class and the stand-out lemon tart packed with citrus fragrance and taste. But, with a ' French business name ', I was expecting better! Biggest let down was the lack of butter used in the crust, rendering it half bland, lacking in richness and aroma.
Now that both my curiosity and taste buds had been satisfied, I have to say how lucky I am to have a couple of really good to great French patisseries in my hood... Ruelo and DUO to satisfy my occasional sweet obsession!
