NOOK: Report

Just went to NOOK on Hyde Street for the 2nd time for Lunch with a Friend.

The first time I went I got the Olive Tapenade & Hummous Sandwich which I thought was really good (a little messy) but I am willing to put up with the messyness for a lot of Hummous. The sandwiches come with a mixed green side salad with a balsamic vinaigrette, which I am usuall y not a hug efan of, but the balsamic here is pretty good.

This time I got the Chicken/Hummous/Tomato/Onion Sandwich. I was a little dissapointed in the amount of hummous on there, but it was overall pretty tasty.

My friend got the Mozerella/Pesto/ Tomato Sandwich which was pretty flavorful, but mainly pretty good because they use really good bread.

Looking around I noticed that the "dish to order" seemed to be the breakfast wrap. I huge burrito like wrap, toasted on the outside and stuffed with egg, ham, tomato and beans.

The Hummous/Vegetable/ Tapenade plate also looked good and came with slices of cucumber, pita, hummous, tomato, and olive tapenade.

They also have some pretty good sounding salads: Avacado/Grapefruit/Prawn ($8.25) and a Beet/Raisin/Goat Cheese/ Mixed green being the most creative ($7.50).

Overall I think this is the highest quality/least generic $6-$8 Sandwich/Salad place i've found in the Nob Hill/Polk Gulch area. The one downside is it is really small and many of the patrons stay for hours and drink coffee so sometimes you have to squeeze in. The is outside seating there which would be nice if it ever stops raining.
