Anyone interested in getting a glimpse of the excitement and anxiety of opening a new restaurant should peak into this hidden potential gem in W.L.A. on the southeast corner of Barry and Santa Monica Blvd., one block east of Barrington, next to Western Bagel. I spotted the sign a week ago and decided to wander in this morning. First impressions can be misleading but the room is one of the smartest looking I've seen lately. Brian was the eager and understandably tired owner who told me they're opening this Thursday for dinner and will continue with lunch and dinner thereafter, closed on Sundays. He told me he's been managing Bergamont Station for the last five years and that the chef, James, comes from Burn's Steakhouse in Miami. There will be an emphasis on fresh fish.
