Space is really roomy and well done.
We got two noodle dishes. Sichuan Dan-Dan and Jiangxi Stir Fry (House Special).
I didn't like the Dan-Dan noodles. Specifically, the noodles were a little bland and the crunchy texture of the pork put me off. The version at Ancient Szechuan nearby leaves this one for dead.
The Jiangxi Stir Fry was much better than the Dan-Dan.
I'd try the place again on the basis of its (for me) walkable location and the pleasant chew of noodles in the second dish.
I was going to write that maybe some more adventurous choices would pay off, but there's not a lot of adventure on the menu.
In fact, that may be the market strategy of the place.
Maybe for next time...?
Ramen wheat noodle with minced beef tendon, scallion, cilantro, tomato, & romain lettuce
Rice noodle with tender fish fillet, ham, bone-less, skin-less, chicken, baby Bok Choy, & bean sprouts.
If you live or work in El Cerrito, you might want to give 'em a try.
