"Noodles on 28," at 28th and 3rd, is nothing fancy - its decor is on the level of an Empire Szechuan or Hunan - but having moved to Murray Hill, we think it is better than any neighborhood Chinese restaurant we've been too. The dumplings are fantastic and they make them in the window, the food is very tasty without being too oily and the menu is very large and the prices typically neighborhood Chinese reasonable. It's no Shun Lee Palace or anything upscale like that, but it's just a consistently great neighborhood Chinese restaurant. Sam's across the street is a very good neighborhood cheapie Chinese restaurant (which is wierd, because the neighborhood isn't as great a restaurant neighborhood as many others in Manhattan), but still, we think Noodles on 28 is the best neighborhood Chinese on the entire island.
I've never seen Noodles on 28 spoken about here - what do others think who've been there?
