I was pleasantly surprised by this apparent hole in the wall on 12th St. in Wilmette, right near the Metra. From outside it looks like a pizza joint, but inside it's very casually elegant, with nice pictures on the walls. It's small, and a bit close, but still comfortable. The food is excellent, the prices reasonable, the service adequate. I ordered a scrumptious appetizer of baked mushrooms stuffed with garlicky basil pesto and covered with mozzarella. I also had perfectly grilled salmon on top of a generous, fresh salad. My companion was also very happy with her order. The menu is varied, offering many pastas, fish, chicken, veal, beef, salads, soup, and desserts. The wine list is pretty good. From what I've sampled, this is the best restaurant I've been to in Wilmette so far.
