Noodle 88 off Rout 309

borntolovefood | Dec 14, 201601:06 PM

A friend mentioned this place as "pretty good for Chinese" so I checked it out. In the end I had to agree, it's not bad at all and worth the trip driving up on 309.

The proprietor and the kitchen turn out to be the same crew who ran Peking in Granite Run Mall (Media) before they lost it when the mall was torn down. Being associated with the Margaret Kuo operation, these folks were known to be picky about purchasing ingredients for their dishes.

The food they served me at their new place tasted clean and delicious. Shanghai "Smoked" Fish was a surprise - served without bones and skin but seasoned just right. The pieces of spare ribs were well trimmed. And the house-made shrimp balls in the Shrimp Pearl Soup left me wanting more.

What a relief to know there is this place for me to take family and friends to for a nice meal. It IS pretty good for Chinese.
