By way of preface, our home and business is in Manasquan. Although we love the place and the community, we will go days/weeks without leaving or taking time off. Occasionally, we have a free monday -- time to hit the road and explore a taste of something different.
We are seeking suggestions as to a worthy destination, within an hour or two drive, for lunch. By way of example, past excursions have taken us to Geno's in Philly for steaks (always worth the trip, even if it makes wearing a seat belt on the drive home mighty uncomfortable!), Jim's Burger Haven (the ocean drive and Sandy Hook detour helped salvage that one), the Dutchman on LBI (only to find out they close Mondays in the winter), etc.
On the contemplated list at present are DeLorenzo's in Trenton and some rumored roadside BBQ spot on Route 9 in the Forked River area (this one seems likly to turn out with us wasting a lot of gas).
Any cuisine, any location, any price range -- alll we are looking for is at that moment when I start the car to head home we concur "It was worth the trip!"
