Has anyone, i.e. Ninisix, tried Sushi Matsunami in Asakusa?

HungryMaineMan | Dec 10, 201402:55 PM

Our Daughter lives in Tokyo and is impossible to pin down for reservations, (much less have her make them for us) so our MO is to ask our concierge at the hotel to call the top spots 1,2,3 days in advance and check for cancellations. We have had nice dinners at Saito and Mizutani that way.
But its hard to pull off on the first night and we are staying in Asakusa hence the question.
Any other suggestions for sushi in the Asakusa area? I know there are lots of
kaitenzushi places in the neighborhood (some pretty great for the money) but
I am aiming higher.
We have time to finagle ourselves into Sawada or Sho later in the stay, but I'm now concerned about a previous comment about the fishermans' holiday from the 28th. Better eat it while it's fresh and save 7 Chome for when the fish run out.
Thanks for any comments.
