After reading a bunch of reviews, I went to Niko's (Nikos?) last night. Basic storefront which isn't done up in the usual blue and white Greek decor. High ceiling gives an airy feel as well. We went the 'many-appetizer' route. The waitress (Shae) took about two minutes to warm up to us and was great throughout. A bowl of assorted olives and some grilled italian-type bread basket came when we were seated. Would probably have preferred pita, but it was adequate. Two of us ordered a small country salad (enough for two), Skordalia with fried eggplant and zucchini (Greek Chips on the menu), broiled octopus (excellent), Saganaki. . . two pieces, but sadly no flambe and no oompah! Also, a large piece, entree portion of Spanakopita. All dishes were very good. Service was excellent. The owner came by for a chat. He's Irish! His wife's family is Greek. Bill was under $50 before tip. I'd definitely go back.
