It will be right next to Fresh Choice San Mateo right off the 92 @ El Camino, inside the space formerly occupied by Petco (which before that was Wherehouse Music). No date mentioned, but my guess would be in the next month or so, as the shelves and counters are already in place inside. They are hiring too.
Fantastic...now Japanese grocery fans in the Peninsula will have more than just Suruki Supermarket and the other older store nearby (Takahashi?) Judging from the new Nijiya's interior, it is going to be pretty big. The only good thing Suruki has that this new Nijiya might not is the fish "butcher" counter, where you can select sashimi grade fish by weight, cut to order in addition to pre-packaged slabs in the refrigerator section.
