Three Nights in Vancouver

L.Nightshade | Mar 8, 2015 12:02 AM

Dear Vancouver Chowhounds...

We have just decided to spend our first wedding anniversary (March 22nd) across the border in Vancouver. We'll be there three nights, and are seeking one appropriately celebratory dinner, and a couple more interesting meals.

Our hotel is on Robson at Jervis. Not my favorite neighborhood, but there we are. Although we do have a car, we tend to garage it and walk everywhere. So walking distance is a plus (which for us poor of joint, is a mile or two). But we are willing to drive or cab one night if it makes a world of difference.

Based upon my reading here, below are my current considerations for our anniversary night. I'm open to your comments, or other ideas.

For the remaining two nights, we're just looking for food we don't have where we live. Frankly, that leaves the options pretty much wide open. There are so many places I've bookmarked from discussions on this board, but for this trip, I'm looking for spots within walking distance from our hotel. For sushi one night, I'm thinking Miko on Robson. Maybe Banana Leaf for the other night? It's not the best Malaysian food I've ever eaten, but it's certainly different from what we can get here. Really great Chinese would be wonderful too. Other ideas are welcome, of course. And there is nothing preventing us from selecting one of the runner ups from the above list for one night.

Also welcome are nearby breakfast or lunch options. Really, if I don't have a couple daytime meals lined up, Mr. NS will live on Japadogs. (Probably not the worst thing that could happen.)
