One night in Pittsburgh...where should I go?

Elyssa | Jun 15, 201506:50 PM     2

In early July I'm traveling to Pittsburgh for work. I'm going to be staying at the Sheraton-Station Square. I likely will only have time for one dinner (possibly a 2nd early one before I fly out the next evening). I'll be alone and don't want to spend a ton of money (probably between $40-50/person) but would love to get a taste of what Pittsburgh has to offer. This is my first time visiting and I hear great things about the city--so maybe some place in an interesting neighborhood.

I won't have a car but am willing to take a cab somewhere good. I like all types of cuisine but currently not eating a ton of carbs so a pizza or pasta place probably won't work. Any thoughts of a great restaurant where a woman would feel comfortable dining alone and could get a taste of the dining scene in Pittsburgh?
