Last Night @ Brentwood Restaurant

We did a delayed Mother's Day last night at Marder's place in Brentwood, (148 S. Barrington).

The food was not bad but the cost to benefits ratio is just too high on the cost side. Nice setting for those that like it dark, like the dearly departed Chianti on Melrose dark depending on where you are sitting.

One buratta caprese for me, pretty good. One caesar with anchovies for Mom, she liked it. A main of baby backs for the teen weasel, he seemed to be enjoying them, one prime rib for Mom, she said good but not what she was expecting, (more steak like and not the typical Prime Rib) and one Short ribs for moi. Eh.

Side of potatoe lyonnais, weird and so-so with some sort of reduction/sauce on them and one side of creamed spinach, pretty good. One banana split with Dr. Bobs ice cream and hot fudge, good to great and one starwberry shortcake, okay. Two before dinner drinks, both really good and one glass of pinot noir for me plus two coffees. $180, plus tip.

Probably our only visit.
