For the Ham in Cherry Coke (from FEAST), she recommends a boneless mild cure ham. Is this partially cooked? Fresh (I don't think so if it is cured, it's not a "fresh ham". Cook's Illustrated uses a fresh ham and a time consuming/messy method. Nigella's is more appealing)? I know people have tried it, I read the two posts I could find, but didn't really find the answer to this. Specific brand name suggestions would be great. I've never bought a ham before.
I know it is to be boiled in the coke, then baked in the oven. My grandmother used to do this (without the coke) and bought a ham from a fab german pork store in Queens, NY. It's closed, I believe.
