I've been there twice now (after having been to the original nick's in Forest Hills around 20 times) and the pizza is not as good as the Forest Hills spot.
The crust is thicker and chewier and the whole pie is lust lacking the oomph of the original. The pie I got there on Sunday also had bare spots where there was no sauce or cheese.
The only other thing we ordered was the house salad, which had a sickeningly sweet dressing on it that tasted like candy. It was the kind of salad I'd expect at Friday's, not a NY Italian restaurant.
Don't get me wrong -- the pizza is still better than 98 percent of what's out there. But if you're used to Nick's in Forest Hills then you're likely to be disappointed, for now. I'm going to give them a few months and try again.
