My dad and I are having dinner tomorrow night to commemorate the birthday of my mother, who passed away last year. Anyway, I am looking for a nice, reasonable (up to $20 per entree) place in the Village or the East Village. It's not going to be a somber dinner, but i don't think someplace bustling is the ticket either. Also, should be a place where the tables aren't too cramped -- we're both big guys.
I was thinking of trying 50 Carmine (i've never been) -- is this a good choice? Any other recommendations would be welcomed. Cuisine doesn't matter too much.
