I will be in town next Friday and would like to know if there are any good lunch deals in the area. Specifically, I'm hoping for a 3-course prix fixe $20-25 without drinks or tip, with a modern/contemporary setting. There will be 2 of us, and there are no food restrictions, although I prefer it not to be a steakhouse.
I'm looking for a place that doesn't feel too old money/stuffy/strictly business if that makes sense. It also doesn't have to be within walking distance -- a short subway or cab ride is fine.
Also, any reviews on the Met dining options? Generally I really like gallery/museum settings, but find the price/value ratio a bit skewed, or worse, just so-so food.
