Two nice dinners at Grill 23 and TenTables Cambridge: Thanks, Chowhounds!

I've been reading this board for a little while now and learned so much, I wanted to thank you all. It helps a lot to read all of your comments and impressions, so when I've had occasion to got out to eat (sadly, not nearly often enought these days!) I'm much more prepared to choose a restaurant.

My hubbys birthday was a few days prior to Valentine's and I chose Grill 23 based on the recent thread regarding martinis, as well as other comments. Steakhouses are not my thing, I've decided, but dear hubby LOVED it- the room, the martini, the steak and the sides. (I did like the steak - we split an aged ribeye). So the evening was a smashing success, since my hubby was happy happy.

Then last night I had dinner at Ten Tables in Cambridge, with a dear friend who has been a DC for ~ 5 years. She will be moving away soon, sniff sniff...I loved loved loved the soup of green garlic with semolina and 7-minute egg. Wasn't really sure what to do when confronted with a whole egg floating in my soup, but surmised that it was meant to be broken and stirred into said soup..oh, yum. DC had braised pork cheeks with some sort of veggie garnishes, and the skate wing for dinner (I had lobster fra diablo, also delicious). Yummy yummy. The room was quite loud, but we managed...what will forever endear Ten Tables to me, though, is that it was WARM in the ladies' room. I'll never understand why so many Boston restaurants don't bother to heat their restrooms. Nothing pulls the plug on the afterglow of a great meal like a chilly tushie...
