Yesterday, after a matinee of The Producers, my husband and I went to the Bristol Lounge for dinner. Prior to this, I have only had tea there, a tradition started a few years ago, when I had the big 4-0, and my daughter hit the big 5! We have gone back every summer since (our birthdays are a week apart). Anyway, we had a 5:30 reservation, but were early, and they seated us promptly. We had a soup special of white bean and tomato, which was delicious, and split a salad, which they did in the kitchen. My husband had a burger, which he loved, and I had a pasta special, which was pasta with shrimp, asparagus, and roasted tomatoes. I loved it- instead of a sauce, it was more like a broth, and it had some cheese on it. For dessert, he had a chocolate/pistachio/pecan type thing, and I had a fruit tart. There was a fairly significant delay between salad and entree, which didn't bother us because our daughter is away at camp, and we were in no hurry. The waiter apologized a couple of times, and then at the end, said that he discussed the delay with his manager, and our desserts were complimentary. We were impressed, since we had never complained about it. So different than places where you complain and they still don't offer to do anything. And all around good meal and relaxing experience.
