I brought a group of seven to the Nha Trang on Centre street last night. As most of my guests were new to Vietnamese cuisine, I didn't want to get very experimental and opted for a selection of dishes from the "Famous Vietnamese Dishes" section of the menu.
With exception of the summer rolls, which were delicious with peanut sauce, all of the 6 or 7 other dishes we ordered were barely passable. This experience was nothing like the marvelous preparations I'd eaten of even the most basic staples at the Baxter St. location.
What's more, the service was indifferent at best and clueless at worst. My memory of the waiters at Baxter St. was always a fond one.
Has Nha Trang jumped the shark? Am I correct in thinking there's far more TLC at the Baxter St. branch?
