As mentioned by others here in the Dang Bahn Mi an other threads, NG-BMT food stand in the back of Hong Kong Market on Research (next to Ramen Tatsuya, Din Ho, etc.) serves up the best bahn mi in town and is probably apart from breakfast tacos the most filling and delicious food bargain in town - deserving of its own thread. House made everything - pickles, chewy buttery baguette, awesome mayo, pork meatballs, peppered shrimp, grilled pork, great great tofu. they have a really good gingery not too sweet tofu desert that really surprised me (tofu for desert, that is??) in a good way. also Chinese doughnuts and vietnamese fried bread sticks. No seats, cash only, all sandwiches are 4-6 dollars - and buy 4 and get the 5th free. Tax is already included in the price. To boot the nicest two vietnamese ladies run this show. I was only there once prior to last night and it was before the 10 am opening time and couldn't wait. This was two months ago and the lady remembered me and welcomed me back. The news of this joint is 5/5 stars elsewhere and has been sort of blowing up. much deserved attention.
