Restaurants & Bars 1

We had an amusing time at News, in the space of the old Blue Diner on Kneeland St. The waitress was just weird, going from overly anxious to ignoring us to seeming like a robot or a Stepford wife. It was funny if nothing else, like when she asked us if everything was "excellent". Not really. My friend's gnocchi in marinara sauce were okay ($10.95), definitely on the heavy side. No bread with it. Fries didn't come with all sandwiches ($1.95 extra) but she said they did with the Cubano ($9.95). Which was more like ham and cheese on French bread. And I got charged for fries but just didn't want to deal with her so I kept my mouth shut. The space is kind of cool, esp. the bar side. But their drink specialty menu lists no prices which is annoying. No need to go back.
