Nemo in South Beach, Pompano Beach and Calle Ocho suggestions?

Mrs. Dirt | Apr 12, 200409:01 AM     5

My husband and I are heading down to Pompano (from Minnesota) for a long weekend and looking for some dining suggestions. My mother, who lives in Pompano, recommends we dine at Nemo in South Beach for our evening in Miami. (Will we need reservations - we intend to go on Friday or Saturday night? Do they have a bar we can sit at if we decide to go very casual and just grab appetizers?)

Earlier that day we will be taking a short tour of the Calle Ocho area and I'd like to find a good Cuban place for lunch. Any reactions to those plans? Suggestions?

For the rest of our time we hope to stay close to the condo and the boat - dining primarily in the Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale neighborhoods. Mom suggests Sunfish Grill, Taverna Opa, Brasserie Las Olas, Wolfie's Rascal House, and Chima. We've been to these places before. I would surely return to any of them, but I'd also like to add some new favorites to the list. Any ideas for casual options - maybe some that are bargain finds? How about options for dining on the Intracoastal? We'll be puttering about in their boat, weather permitting, and we'd love to dock and dine.

Thanks much!
