they are back! hallelujah!

Just had lunch there with the mother. They were slammed. the whole dining room was not full but the sections they had open were seriously in the weeds.- It took forever for our food to come but, well, I must say all was forgiven after one bite of the succulent fried chicken. Goddamn, that's good!

A table next to ours was large and seemed to order one of everything . . . .it all looked gorgeous and tasty - even the burger. I have to to get off the fried chicken thing and order something else. . it all looks good.

My mom seemed uncomfortable because we were the only white people there - I didn't at all - I have never felt out of place but she said she felt like she did when my dad was alive and we went to his side of the family for holidays - mom = southern belle (speaks zero spanish) dad = 1st generation Mexican American (all but him, zero English). Am I completely overwhelmed by fried chicken fumes and hence blind to the truth or is my mom trippin'?
