Help needed on a donut question

I'm at a business meeting a couple of years ago and a vendor brings in a box of donuts for the assembled group, presented in exquisite brown-nose fashion. And I'll be damned--the best donuts I've ever tasted, cake-style, kind of in the Dat tradition.

I have no recollection of where they came from--the vendor guy I remembered lived in some northwest suburb, and said he picked them up near where he lived on his way into town. They were in one of those white bakery cake boxes, maybe a German-named bakery, black-type on the lid, maybe a windmill logo, but at this point the memory is vague.

Ring a bell with anyone?
