Nebraska State Fair (in Lincoln) food

Yikes, not much to report here. Surprisingly poor selection (unless I missed something). Compared to Kansas & Iowa fairs neighboring there were just the usual line-up of sleazy funnel cake entrepreneurs (my theory is that a funnel cake van attracts pretty low brow types as owners; who can't ever quite get enough of the remarkable business math that they can sell a product whose ingredients cost them 0.00000000001 dollars for a couple of bucks a pop)---and little else was spotted.

Anyway, I tried "Steak on a Stick" from a truck down by the marching band mustering point. (A Farm concern.) This turned out to be an utterly ordinary beef kebab and consisted of mostly vegetables, not steak, on the stick. For $5 it was pathetic. A couple of brat's sampled were unexceptional in quality. No lambburgers (a standout in Des Moines) or anything else similarly unusual, generous value, or interesting were located.

I suppose someone will reply and tell me that "just around the corner" there were all sorts of delights I missed. If so, let me know for next time. Thanks.
