(I know this place has been talked to death, but what the heck:)
Finally went to Nazar last night (New Year's Eve), after we couldn't get a table at Kazan. It was full but not crowded (nobody waiting) at around 8:00 pm.
The service was very good and attentive. Unfortunately, that's the best thing I have to say about the place.
The bread was fresh for the first two minutes after it came to the table. Then it got hard fast. Very little taste to the bread as well--unless you like cardboard. Was it microwaved?
The yogurt sauce was good, as was the fried phyllo with feta--two things that are hard to screw up. The doner kabab was dry, bland and room temperature. I left over most of it. My girlfriend's dish of some kind of minced lamb was decent, though again dry and without much taste. Even the rice on the side was bland.
In short, there's very little positive to report at Nazar. Too bad, because I really wanted to like it.
