Nat's Early Bite - breakfast today

Debbie | Apr 25, 200411:28 PM

Ok, so I'm a moron. I have lived within 5-10 minutes of Nat's Early Bite since 1990 and today was the first time I tried it. Hubby had been once for lunch but for some reason never really reported to me and never suggested we check it out.

We got there around 10:30 and the place was packed, but we only had to wait a few minutes. I had a scramble with spicy turkey sausage, jack cheese, spinach and mushrooms. Hubby had his usual bacon and American cheese omelette - ugh, this is so nasty to me, but he always gets it. Probably so that I won't eat his food. He asked for his hash browns well done, and indeed they looked rather crispy. I opted for grits over hash browns or homefries, but the grits tasted strangely smoky and I only had a couple of bites. No problem, because the scramble was plenty along with my rye toast. You can get a muffin instead of toast, like blueberry or some other flavors. Total with a Diet Coke for him, including tax and tip - $20.

Large board of specials. Lots of homemade pies and other desserts which we didn't try. Obviously a neighborhood gem. Northwest corner of Burbank and Hazeltine, Sherman Oaks (or maybe technically the southern border of Van Nuys, not sure).
