Charles Schwab's recent newsletter included this advice:
" Inflation Takes Wing
When inflation accelerates, shoppers—and investors—take note. But the headline rate in the news obscures a lot of complexity. The truth is, there are many inflation rates, and how exposed you are to rising prices has a lot to do with your spending.
Consider the chicken. Over the past year and a half, the price of a whole bird has increased less than 2%, while the price of wings is up more than 71%. Whether this is down to worker shortages or pandemic demand for comfort food, the result is the same: Wing lovers are taking a hit. So, keep an eye on the data, and stay flexible so you can adjust as conditions merit."

Here's USDA's National Retail Report - Chicken for supermarket advertised prices (currently from 10/1 to 10/7/2021),
How do those regional prices reported in its sample compare to your hometown markets?
