We had a lovely dinner at Josephine's on our last trip to Nashville. Sadly, I am almost two months late on this report, thus being a bit weak on details. I use to make notes while eating. However, that seemed to take away from just appreciating the meal.

Starters were Beef Tongue and a Chef's Special. MC is a fan of beef tongue. I am not. I usually find it too dry. We both loved Josephine's interpretation of the dish. Cut very thinly, moist and full of flavor. I cannot remember the details of the Chef's Special as a starter.

Mains were Beef Cheeks (wait, are we on a themed meal? We usually go for seafood).
Again, a major hit with both of us. The second main was a seafood fettuccine. It was good, just not as unique in taste as the two beef dishes. MC had a glass of Schug. Pinot Noir and I had a glass of Dry Creek Zin. Our server was very helpful in describing the dishes and the wine.

We finished with a large French Press but skipped dessert. Our kids were in Nashville recently and said we had to try Jeni's Ice Cream. Our server at Josephine's agreed with our kids. All in all, a wonderful evening.

The next day we had burgers at Tavern. We really enjoyed the house cheese burger, cooked medium rare just as ordered, flavor filled and juicy. The fish tacos were good, but lacking somewhat in flavor. We has a draft Blackstone Fancy Boy and a draft Muchaco. Good service also.
