Thank you again to everyone who made suggestions about Nashville. We were at the Bluebird Cafe Saturday night. Didn't eat, just had beer. Then on to Bosco's for more beer and fried calamari. Lots of it, but only so-so. Sunday dinner was at Sunset Grill. I had Tennessee prawns with succotash and hushpuppies--very tasty! Others at the table had American Kobe beef with Jack Daniel-infused mashed potatoes and thought it very good. The waitress was patient (7 of us), helpful and caring (she called us a van and made sure we were cared for at our table until it arrived). Monday dinner we were taken to a new restaurant, Acorn. The most enjoyable meal I've had in a while. Its just off West End near the Parthenon. Friendly, knowledgable service. Good wine and beer selections. Reasonable prices. Creative menu--southern, asian, american... Great bread (from Provence bakery). Most had the halibut encrusted with chirazo and potato over sweet potato hash (oh my, sooo good) and Jack Daniel cream sauce. Quail over grits for an appetizer, yum. Didn't mean to ramble, but over all it was a great trip. Have to go back.
