So, I grew up in Northern Georgia eating the flesh of the pig. I now live in Texas where the cow is revered and the grand history of pork in the state is ignored in favor of some mythical cowboy past. Blah blah blah
I want pig (ok, I'll eat any meat that has been slow cooked with smoke), but this board seems to think that Asheville doesn't have any bbq worth mentioning. So I need advice on finding some between Nashville and Asheville.
We'll be driving out of Nashville on a Friday morning. We'd like to eat some barbecue for lunch...somewhere. What are our best options on the highway between Nashville and Asheville?
We'll be driving back to Nashville on Memorial Day so we can catch a flight on Tuesday morning. So bbq recomendations in Nashville might help me eat dinner Monday night. It is a holiday, if that helps eliminate some places that might be closed.
Do you have any recommendations for Asheville that I wouldn't find on this list? Please don't feel obliged to rehash the already well coverd Asheville scene.
Thanks a ton.
