Narrowing down choices for Montreal dining

selena | Mar 10, 2008 09:34 AM

I'll be visiting Montreal with friends in mid-April, and I'm thinking about making some reservations ahead of time for some of the restaurants that might be hard to get into on short notice. For upscale (and mainly French cuisine), it looks like Le Club Chasse et Peche gets high marks here; I'm also leaning toward Bonaparte.

Any notes on Les Remparts, the Beaver Club, and Verses would be welcome. The atmosphere is also important -- it can be elegant or cozy/comfortable but I don't like brightly lit or too noisy for easy dinner conversation. Great cocktails/wine list also a big plus!

Please mention any don't-miss places that you think belong on my list. Again, I'm just looking for the ones that require advance reservations. We don't mind flying by the seat of our pants for places, once we arrive.

Thanks in advance!
