We just rented a beach house in Narragansett for August. The group that's attending are all out-of-staters, and this will be their first New England seaside vacation (normally they go to the Jersey shore). I live in Mystic, and I know I want these folks to get some of the best and freshest seafood you can find, and also some good local produce, since it''ll be the height of corn season. So I have three questions:
1) Where can we get wonderful scallops, lobster, and other seafood? This could be from docks or markets to take back to the grill, or could mean restaurants as well -- although we want to avoid anything super-fancy and also avoid frozen-fish, fry-basket types of places.
2) What are some good farms/produce markets in the Narragansett area?
3) And what are the other good restaurant picks? Atmosphere is a big plus.
And of course, any other not-to-be-missed highlights -- great activities, ice creams, places.
Thanks in advance!!
