Nara Sushi (Ave./Wilson Area) Mini-review

For those who live in the area, this place used to be Dr. Sushi. The original Dr. Sushi was awesome but the new management really drove the people out -- quality was very low and you could get better/much cheaper a few blocks away. So I pretty much stayed away from the place!!

For Avenue Rd. and Wilson, there are 4/5 sushi places if you don't want to go N of 401. Kokame (yuk), Sushi Days (cheap and passable), Issimi (super expensive garbage), and Nara.

I only found out today that Nara has completely new owners and has been totally renovated, so I went inside and ordered some rolls. I can honestly say that these were the best take out rolls I have ever had. I did not order nigiri -- I am going to go back to do a more thorough investigation and this time I will take some pics. Their menu is stupidly gigantic (mostly different combinations) and their prices are very reasonable.

I am extremely curious to hear from anyone in the area who has been here -- and for those who live in the area but have been avoiding it because of the history of the place, I reccomend you at least try it once. For everyone else, this is not the sort of place you drive accross the city to (at least I can't yet label it as such) but if you live in the neighbourhood it's DEFINITELY worth a visit.
