Maybe some of the long line had to do with their 2012 Michelin Bib award, but this restaurant which bills itself as “an innovative taqueria” serves tasty tacos using top quality ingredients … local produce, free range poultry, sustainable seafood, etc.
Everything including the granola or baked goods such as scones is gluten free.
Located in the Oxbow Market at the old RoliRoti site, the rotisserie is used for chile crusted free range chicken (14.75) and herb crusted duck ($34). Half portions are available and there are duck and chicken tacos.

They are open for breakfast. The Casa breakfast comes with 2 eggs, roasted fingerling and new potatoes and two white corn tortillas. There is the option of adding a buffalo patty or grilled skirt steak.
The breakfast special was the Michelin gourmet taco – scrambled eggs, goat cheese, wild mushrooms and white truffle oil.
Lunch and dinner includes the innovative tacos such as lamb, skirt steak, ground buffalo, garlic citrus prawns and mahi mahi. There are a few vegetarian and vegan tacos. The menu notes that vegans should ask to leave off dairy items in the vegetarian dishes.
There is also a soup of the day, salads, small plates and a daily dinner plate.
The Napa Valley Register has a nice article about the “C” in C Casa, owner Catherine Bergen whose ‘10-day trip to Mexico with cookbook author and restaurateur Rick Bayless rekindled the idea of opening a taqueria in Napa”.
