Okay, sorry for the punny title, but I couldn't resist. Our out-of-town guests, my husband and myself all thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Nan Saturday night. I had the escargot appetizer and could have eaten two more it was so good. Some other apps at the table included cold cucumber soup (good, but a bit too much dill for my taste), smoked salmon salad, crab cake, lemongrass soup and a cold salad with thai noodles and peanut sauce. Everyone was very happy with their orders. I had an entree of Monkfish in a saffron cream sauce that was so good, it didn't suffer from getting cold (I was splitting attentions between my meal and my 7-month-old son). Other entrees included pork tenderloin - which I loved despite not generally being a big pork eater, filet mignon that was scrumptuously tender, shrimp & chicken thai curry, and venison. The wines we brought were a Reisling, a Gewertstraminer and a New York wine developed from a new grape called Traminette. I looked for a Rose Champagne like Katie described, but couldn't find one at my local State Store. A grand time was had by all, so thanks for the recommendations.
