NAKA NAKA review review

we went here last night. a nice cute new japanses resturant.

they bring you a pickled daikon starter. it's good. i had the steam vegetables in soy and a special of red rock fish. the fish came with a pickled hot pepper slice and a slice of lemon. spouse had a maguro special sashimi and an eel/avocado roll. all were fine. note the menu is not spectacularly inventive.

to drink we had two kirin beers each. they offered hot sake and oddly only bottles of premium cold sake (unless i was mistaken).

we did not have any, but they seem to specialize in appetizers and also had a few noodle dishes. i saw a couple eating a soba noodle dish that looked tasty.

our total was $60 w/o tip which was fine.

some more info: this restaurant is hard to spot, there is no sign. fyi it is in chelsea just across 17th street from red rock west bar, near 10th avenue. also, guys this is a traditional yet very cute and frankly lady-like place so get your head in the game and you will eat well and it will please your s.o. --- gals it is definately a place to dine healthy and in peace with with your gal friends. also, note there is one wonderful looking tatami room w/ a kaoroke machine that may have your group's name on it (i heard you need six or a few more, i saw a group of four denied). just remember to wear clean socks!
