Got the chance to eat at this new restaurant in Lansdale, a few blocks from where I live, and I was very pleasantly surprised. For apps I had coconut soup (yes I know it's so typical but I love it), which was very good. My wife had an app special which was mushroom caps stuffed with crabmeat, excellent. For entrees we felt like standards so my wife had red curry chicken ($12.95) and I had wild ginger chicken ($9.95). Unlike typical red and green curries (which are often more like stews, which is fine), this was very well prepared sliced chicken breast surrounded by curry sauce and fresh veggies. My ginger chicken was pieces of tender chicken with onion, peppers and of course lots of julienne ginger in a brown sauce. Both were very good. Desserts looked good but we were too stuffed. We both thought the food was well prepared and that the ingredients used were very fresh.
While eating I mentioned that I thought the menu was similiar to that of Thai Orchid, one of our favorites. On the way out we read the recent local newspaper article which said the owner had worked previously at Thai Orchid in Marlton, NJ. The head chef is working 3 days there and the other 4 at Siri's French-Thai in Cherry Hill, which speaks for itself. 2 apps, 2 entrees and the bill was a whopping $35. They have a 3 course lunch special for $7.95. The staff is very friendly and attentive and they have made the small restaurant look very nice. Finally good ethnic food in Lansdale (which, until now, was an oxymoron). I would recommend eating here and we will definitely be back. For a Monday, there were a good amount of people there, a good sign!
