Need a huge favor. I am preparing a meal for my wife's birthday, and I am determined to cook a mussels gratin that we enjoyed at a restaurant in Brussels. However, I am not seeing any similar recipes online -- the ones I found have the mussels still in their shells, with cheese baked on top, but I am looking for something where the mussels are shucked and then mixed in with the cheese. Would anyone be able to improvise a quick recipe for me? I assume it would include mussels, cheese (probably cheddar and/or jack), and cream, but am not sure what else. I'm a very novice cook and I'm afraid that throwing together some ingredients and popping the thing in the oven just isn't going to work.
Thanks in advance. :)
