I'm starting to get really excited about the trip. We're leaving Saturday the 16th and returning the following Sunday, the 24th!
So far, the plans are: Dinner at either Bayona or Herbsaint Saturday evening, birthday brunch at Arnaud's on Sunday. Monday night, nine of us will be descending on K-Paul's. (We're trying to get the coconut cake, but we really didn't give them enough notice this time.)
Then, hold on to your horses: Tuesday night we are going to be sitting at the Chef's Table at Commander's!. I tried a few months ago, unsuccessfully, to book the table, and just got a call last week that there had been a cancellation!
(I had a reservation for Wednesday at Delmonico's, but with the current plans for Commander's, I think that would be huge overkill, and will almost certainly cancel that.)
On the following Friday, we're planning on trying lunch at Galatoire's.
In between, I want to hit one or more of: Mandich, Mandina's, Dick and Jenny's, Sid-Mar's, and Marisol.
We're also planning one or two road trips -- one of them to Zam's swamp tour with some local eating while we're there.
I think the rest of the time we are going to be flat on our backs dreaming of iceberg lettuce!
Are we totally insane? Any thoughts about omissions, must-order menu items, or what you might do differently?
