We went to the Martini House in Napa on Saturday night because the Mushroom tasting menu seemed intriguing. The setting is warm and nice. Our server was insistent that we also share their cream of mushroom soup to get a full mushroom experience. The soup was good, like high end comfort food.
We were very happy with the mushroom tasting menu. The highlights were the first two courses:
King Trumpet Mushroom Salad- this was one of the most enjoyable dishes I remember eating in a long time. Very fresh tasting, vibrant and bursting with flavor.
Ginger Braised Shiitake Mushrooms- Reminiscent of really good Asian soup. Perfectly balanced and flavorful. Very enjoyable.
Portobello Mushroom Burger- Very tasty.
Candy Cap Bread Pudding Currants and Golden Raisins- Good, but not thehighlight of the meal.
