Restaurants & Bars

Mughal Palace, Valhalla NY

I hesitate to recommend Indian restaurants to others. For some reason the cuisine lends itself to more inconsistencies in quality than any other. I started out loving Royal Palace in Greenberg, but not in the last year and half. I have visited all the other ones in the county with OK to awful results. With my reservations stipulated, I visited a new Indian in Valhalla NY, across from the train station, for Sunday Brunch buffet today named “Mughal Palace”. To complicate things, I am low carbing my way to buffness this week so I did not partake of a good deal of the buffet, however:

The place was spotlessly clean and the wait staff (two gentleman) were competent and friendly. The restaurant was empty except for another table for two and a family of six at 12:30. The buffet was very generous in quantity and the items I did partake of, the tandori chicken; aloo gobi; sag paneer; and seek kebab were very good to excellent, and my half of one masala dosi was subliminal but perhaps the forbidden fruit aspect might have contributed to that. Brunch for two with soda’s (comped) came to $25.00. I did find the flavors distinct in each dish, the food at proper temperature, the variety quite large and the waiter (perhaps owner?) gracious. There regular menu has nothing outstandingly clever on it, however I will be making a future visit.
