I just joined. I did a search for Mountain View restaurants. I used to work in Palo Alto for 30 years and actually grew up in Mt. View (so I'm familiar with the neighborhoods but, I've been living up in Walnut Creek for many years and do not know what restaurants might be excellent or at least good these days.

I'm meeting 3 friends next week in Mountain View for dinner. One hates seafood. One likes mostly toast (you read that right....she's a picky eater -- so not looking for Indian or Thai etc). The third one likes most things and so do I.

Choices are good. Two of them won't want to spend much. Two of us won't mind spending. You see my dilemma, here? Meeting for dinner with these guys/girls should be fun but becomes a challenge to get everybody to agree.

In the past, Italian and Chinese places have been successful in Palo Alto. This time, one suggested Mountain View. But, nobody knows where -- and there was mention of the nightmare of driving to Castro Street; being held up in train traffic; and no parking.

If you have recommendations that are yummy and off Castro, that's great too!
