Ate at Mt. Everest in the Parkville/Joppa Rd. area last night. Although their menu ranges from carryout subs and pizzas, to Indian, to Nepalese food, I went strictly for the Nepalese chow. Not being familiar with the food at all, I can't speak to its authenticity. (Although my companion and I doubted very much that they had shrimp and salmon there in Napal.)
The most excellent thing I had was the soup. It was a tomato and corriander soup, with the most delicate of flavors. Sort of Indian, sort of not-Indian.
My companion had a chicken dish, chicken junella, think it was called, and was very satisfied: chicken in a very thick creamy sauce with not too many veggies. I got some chef special shrimp dish, also w/a very heavy cream sauce, and a few more veggies. The spices were on the light side, think palak paneer spicing, but didn't quite amaze. (At least the way the soup did.) This all was served with pretty good basmati rice.
For dessert, we split a pistascio/saffron kulfi. It was good and a bit strange, but refreshing.
Although not a buffet person, I plan to go back one afternoon for their lunch buffet (which I think is 7 days/week). That way, I figure, I can sample it all, but don't think that includes their subs and pizzas!
