According to today's Strib, Louis XIII in Southdale has closed. Andrew Zimmern has a snarky comment on that (see link).
I think it was just a week ago that Fhima's financial woes came to light, and he swore that none of his restaurants would close and, furthermore, his new spot in downtown Minneapolis would open up on schedule.
Can someone explain why Fhima is so beloved in the restaurant community? Mpls Cafe was decent, but his other places (Fhima, Louis XIII, and LoTo) get pretty lukewarm reviews. If he's such a great chef, why do his restaurants produce mediocre food in muddled concepts? Does the emperor have no clothes?
